The demonstration was organized to condemn ongoing political repression inside Tibet and voice strict opposition to Beijing's implementation of the controversial "Ethnic Unity Law." Protesters also gathered to honor the sacrifice of Rangzen Lobga, a Tibetan patriot who gave his life in protest for the cause of Tibet. As part of the July 7 demonstration, the TYC President is slated to deliver an open letter directly to the Chinese Embassy, alongside a coordinated appeal letter distributed to 162 foreign embassies across the Indian capital to garner international support for the Tibetan cause.
