Over 32 Tibetans have now taken part in the strike. The movement stands in solidarity with late Tibetan independence activist Lobga Rangzen—who recently self-immolated outside the UN Headquarters—and serves as a firm protest against Beijing’s newly enacted "Ethnic Unity Law," which critics condemn as a tool for forced assimilation.
