DHARAMSHALA, July 16: In a landmark moment for Tibetan representation in international football, Swiss midfielder Cheveyo Tsawa, a rising talent of Tibetan heritage, has signed for Belgian champions Club Brugge, marking one of the most significant milestones achieved by a footballer with Tibetan roots on the European stage.
The 19-year-old from FC Zürich has signed a four-year contract that will keep him at the 20-time Belgian champions until 2030. While neither Club Brugge nor FC Zürich disclosed the financial details of the transfer, Belgian media have reported the deal to be worth just over €6 million.
