The oath of office was administered by Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel at the parliamentary secretariat. The swearing-in follows the resignation of sitting Member of Parliament Ven. Thubten Wangchen, who stepped down from his parliamentary seat following his official appointment by the Kashag (Cabinet) as the new Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Latin America. In accordance with the provisions of the Charter, the parliamentary vacancy was filled by Mr. Tashi Deleg, who was the first runner-up on the reserve waiting list from the 2021 general elections for the Europe constituency.
