Sikyong Penpa Tsering Visits Jangthang Nyoma in Ladakh, Inspects Community Facilities and Addresses Residents

Nyoma, Ladakh: Continuing the fourth day of his official visit to Ladakh, Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration visited the Jangthang Nyoma on 9 July 2026, where he inspected community facilities of the Tibetans, met with residents, and addressed a public gathering on the welfare and future development of the Tibetan community.

En route from Leh to Nyoma, Sikyong inspected a 63-kanal plot of land generously donated by the 9th Thiksey Rinpoche, Venerable Ngawang Jamyang Chamba Stanzin. The land has been earmarked to support the future relocation of the Jangthang Tibetan Settlement in Chumur and to provide housing for Tibetan families in Leh who currently do not have permanent residences.
