The Nepal flash flood also caused massive destruction on the China side of the border, particularly in Tibet’s Gyirong region. The powerful mudslide damaged buildings, roads, power infrastructure and the Gyirong Port area. China has reported 31 deaths, while 531 people are still missing. Rescue teams are continuing search operations in the affected areas as authorities assess the extent of the destruction and work to reach people who may still be trapped or stranded.
