༢༠༢༦ ལོའི་ཨོསི་ལོ་རང་དབང་གླེང་སྟེགས་ཐོག་བོད་མིས་མཉམ་ཞུཊ། Historic Tibetan Presence at the 2026 Oslo Freedom Forum Tibetan voices featured prominently at this year's Oslo Freedom Forum, one of the world's leading gatherings of democracy activists and human rights defenders, which focused on the theme "Dismantling Dictatorship." According to organizers, this year's forum included one of the largest Tibetan representations in its 18-year history, with speakers ranging from political leaders and activists to artists and musicians. Former Sikyong Lobsang Sangay urged democracy movements not only to challenge authoritarianism but also to prepare viable alternatives, citing Tibet's democratic government-in-exile as an example. Tibetan activist Chemi Lhamo, speaking as a leader of the World Liberty Congress, called for greater solidarity among pro-democracy movements worldwide, saying freedom fighters must unite across borders to confront authoritarian regimes. Musician Tenzin Choegyal performed a piece inspired by a poem of the 6th Dalai Lama, while artist Tenzing Rigdol showcased his solo exhibition Let There Be Light, exploring Tibetan identity, memory, and belonging. Tibetan voices featured prominently across its stages and exhibitions as the three-day forum concluded.
